Well the air is a buzz with the announcement of Titan’s Extreme Super Katana. We will be the first dealer carrying them as I got the first huge order in prcoess before anyone else. I will post her feedback as we progress with it.

The ol’ bench workout went good yesterday. Worked up to 320×5. This is the first workout in a month that we did not use bands or chains.  Teale’s workout went great. She topped out with 170×6 in the bench which is sets her higher than she was pre hernia surgery. She has started all the protein and creatine loading for her training cycle.

 

 

 

 

2/21/12

Well we had a blast at Disney World. It was 85 degrees and sunny. We walked about 10 miles a day through the parks. It was a well needed vacation for both of us.

Back to the grind stone now. I am almost caught back up on orders from when we were gone. I appreciate all the patience from our customers on getting your orders shipped.

Teale started her training cycle yesterday for Women’s nationals. Pulled 225x5x5 using 35′s instead of 45 pund plates so the bar is lower. this morning she benched 165×5 and then 165×6 among all the assistance work. In 2 weeks she will put on the Extreme Super Katana and give it a test run. We put it on her last week and it fit great. The horsesshoe neck really makes it fit much better across the shoulders. We will get some video up of her benching in it.

Did everyone get their tax check already. The phone has been ringing non stop this week. I have been packing and shipping as fast as possible. We appreciate all the new customers.

Just added more Titan gear to the website.  Texas belt are taking a few days longer than expected. We are quoting 10-15 days now. Quality take time and no one wants their belt rushed.

I benched last night with chains and wrked up to 155 pounds or bar weight and 250+ pounds of chain weight for 5×5. That much chain weight makes controlling the bar very hard. It is mentally grueling to keep them bar in control. We moved on to foam roller press for 4×6 and then a push up rep session wearing the Titan Ram. After all the chain work there were not many reps.

Teale had her Deadlift conditioning workout of 10×10. I think she ended with about 220lbs. she is getting stronger fast. 

We will be gone to disneyworld from 2/12 -2/17 . We both need some time away. It will be crazy when we get back trying to get orders shipped but I do not trust anyone to do my job while we are gone. We will still reply to emails and get any special orders started in process during this time. This is the official statement

LiftingLarge will not be shipping any orders place from Sunday February 12th thru Friday February 17th. Shipping will resume on Saturday February 18th.

All orders place from Feb. 17th thru Feb. 18th will be processed normally but will not be shipped until the February 18th.

All in stock orders received by midnight on Sunday February 11th will ship as normal.

Orders place from February 12th to the 17th will ship on the 18th in the order they were received.

It has been a while since I have posted. LiftingLarge.com is keeping me so busy that I just don’t have time.

We got the titan Knee sleeves in and they are flying out the doors as are the Rumble rollers for some reason. Can’t complain though.

Our Kilo band manufacturer pushed back a little and we will not have the bands until the very end of the month. We are sorry it is taking so long. If you have ordered them already they will ship the day the big order arrives.

I hurt my SI joint deafliting last week and it kept me crippled up for 2 days. It is getting better but never fast enough as we all know. I have just been working other areas harder. Yesterday I almost did a normal workout. Next week I should be ready to start pulling from the floor again.

Teale is tearing up the gym with her 3 weeks of conditioning before her training cycle starts for the Nationals. Lots of 10×10′s and supersets.

Next week we are leaving for Disneyworld. We leave on the 12th and come back on the 17th. We will still answer emails and process orders but we will not be shipping on those dates. Shipping will begin on the 18th. We both need a break and what better place than with Mickey mouse in the sun.

It is amazing that January is almost over. Wasn’t it just New Years Eve??

We just added the Dave Draper Top Squat to our website.  http://www.liftinglarge.com/topsquatbydavedraper.aspx  We carried this years ago and for some reason we stopped. I have used this in the past and loved it. I was able to squat like a normal person. I ordered one today for my personal use in our gym. Hopefully I will be able to squat with it next week.

Titan knee and elbow sleeves are back in stock and moving like hot cakes. What exactly does moving like hot cakes mean? Are hot cakes so popular that they dissappear that fast? I just finished writing up Teale’s 13 week cycle into Womens Nationals. She is going to do about 3 weeks of high rep conditioning before the starts her 13 weeks. She is very excited about starting it. She is going to try and qualify for the Open and Masters world team. We are going to order her a couple of new Texas belts in the next week. She will be getting a Brahma lever power belt and  an Omega bench belt. http://www.liftinglarge.com/belts.aspx  She just can’t decide what colors she wants yet.

I have a great time running our booth over the weekend and the NASA Nationals. I met a lot of our customers and got to put faces to names. It was a little hectic and I am not sure I would do it again by myself. One of my traning partners, Elaine Waugh got inducted into the NASA hall of fame. It was nice to see her get some recognition.

Teale’s traning and recovery is gonig well. She squatted 95#’s for set of 8 and deadlifted 135 for 8′s. Thursday of this week will be the first time she does some ab work. She got a special prototype bench shirt from Titan to try out. More on it later.

Last night I deadlifted with chains and ended up with 315 pounds of bar weigh and about 300 pounds of chain. It was a rough lockout but felt good.

We are getting back on track with wood boards and board sets. soon we will be able to ship the same day you order.

We got a large order of Front squat zercher harnesses so we can ship them the same day you order now. They are very popular and we have a hard time keeping them in stock. They were very popular at the meet over the weekend also.

I am all ready and packed to head off to NASA Nationals in Oklahoma City for the weekend. This is the first time I have run a booth by myself, wish me luck

I missed my squat workout today because I had more tattoo work done on my Christmas sleeve.

The Longhorn, Brahma and Bravo belts are going to be produced much faster than originally thought. Most of them will ship in about 7 days. That is a great improvment.  I even ordered myself a belt yesterday and we will order Teale and Brahma squat belt and an Omega bench belt next week.

Teale is still recovering nicely from surgery. She squatted 55x10x4  and benched 115x10x4 this week a long with a bunch of other assitance exercises.

The winners of our sponsorship contest will be notified this weekend and posted on our website and Powerliftingwatch.com on Monday. It was tough this year choosing the winners. We had a lot of great people enter. Thank you to everyone that entered.

Well the deadline has passed for entering our Sponsorship contest. We received over 300 entries from all over the world. Today I started going through the entries to start narrowing it down. This is a hard process because there are a lot of deserving lifters that put their heart into the sport and give back so much. I will be working on picking the winners this week and into the weekend. I should be able to annouce the winners on Monday the 23rd. The winners will also be posted on Powerliftingwatch.com.

I have been working on year end taxes all day. Oh boy what a joy. It is a holiday here in the USA today so no orders were shipped out. Everything will go out tomorrow. The phones were pretty quite so I got a lot done.

Teale benched 95 pounds for a few sets of 10 reps yesterday with no pain. Followed that with some pull downs, grip work and treadmill. She is recovering very fast.

Tonight is deadlift trianing for me. Can’t wait. I have been thinking about it all day. There is a little fire that has started in me towards training again. It feels good!!
